The Role of Finance in Building Resilience

Friday 17 May

Co-hosted by the Skoll Centre and the Saïd Business School Sustainability Community of Interest, this seminar will explore how finance can be better used to encourage resilience building and climate adaptation. Drawing on experiences from researchers and practitioners across impact investing, philanthropy and multilateral agencies, topics will include what is meant by resilience building, key actors, and why action is needed; the trade-offs inherent in resilience building; and the kinds of financing we need to build resilience and support climate adaptation globally.

Summer Music by the Lake

Monday 10 June

Join the choirs of Worcester College for an informal summer concert beside the lake this June. In the enchanting setting of the Worcester College Gardens, the choral scholars and boy trebles of the College Choir will join forces with the Allsorts Community Choir to perform a mix of choral, folk and pop music. All are welcome at this free, family-friendly event - take your picnics and drinks to enjoy the early evening Summer Music by the Lake (6pm-7pm). This event is part of a current programme of concerts at Worcester College.

Curious Adventures in Nature Smartphone Workshop

Saturday 6 July

In this event, multi-disciplinary contemporary artist Graham Fudger will explain how to use your smartphone camera to capture and manipulate exquisite images of nature that explore colour, texture and light. The workshop will begin with a session in the Museum of Natural History where Graham will outline his approach to finding aesthetic value in nature. Participants can then explore University Parks, taking photos of their surroundings, including an opportunity to learn how to use time-lapse and plant identifier apps. The workshop will conclude back at the Museum.
